If you are a church organization or congregation and you regularly license music through Christian Copyright Licensing International, you may now license Jonathan's songs and report their usage via CCLI! Go to the CCLI Webpage and search for Jonathan's name and/or song titles using the SongSelect service. And don't forget to report your usage of Jonathan's music so he can be fairly credited and paid! If you're NOT a church, OR you are a church that does not license music with CCLI you may still license Jonathan's music directly from him...read below: |
WHY DO I NEED A LICENSE?
Because songs are property. Copyright is, naturally enough, the Right to Copy music. Only the publisher has that right. To legally make copies yourself, you purchase a license. A license is simply permission to use the songs (which, remember, are property of the publisher) as you wish.

If you purchase the eSongbook you are allowed to make one paper copy of each song for personal use. If you intend to make multiple copies for band rehearsal, or song sheets, or church bulletin inserts, or power point projection, or whatever, you MUST purchase a license.

No, with a few exceptions. Recordings may be made for the purpose of bringing audio or video tapes of church services to the homebound, or for not-for-sale archiving of church services, or for church service radio broadcasts.
